Fast Charging is one of the hottest battlegrounds in the war of smartphones in recent times and Xiaomi is as always at the forefront. Last year, they revealed that they are working on a 100W wired charger that can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in only 17 minutes. Now they are going one step up with a 80W Mi Wireless Charging that takes as less time to do the same job without wires.

Most of the smartphones with the wireless charging support somewhere between 10 to 15W. OnePlus 8 Pro came out with a 30W wireless charging and on the other hand Huawei’s P40 Pro+ and Oppo’s Reno Ace came with 40W. Mi 10 Ultra of Xiaomi wirelessly charges at 50W which is already quite fast but the 80W new beast will blow your mind away.
Xiaomi has claimed that it’s next generation tech can complete the charging of 4,000mAh battery in about 19 minutes. It reaches 10% in only 1 minute and 50% in only eight minutes. The 30W wireless charging takes 25 minutes to reach 50% and 69 minutes to fully charge the battery. Well this is a staggering enhancement. Wireless charging has always been considered as more convenient that plugged in charging but it is slower and less efficient. But with such speeds we can say that portless phones will become the new norm soon.
