Pakistan displayed staggering death bowling show to restrict Zimbabwe to 255 and win the game that would have slipped from their hands. The experienced Wahab Riaz and young Shaheen Shah Afridi saved Pakistan from an unlikely defeat from the 14th ranked Zimbabwe team at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a modest target of 282 runs on a flat track. Opener Imam ul Haq and middle order batsman Haris Sohail were among the runs but both of them were very slow. Imam ul Haq scored 58 runs off 75 balls and Haris Sohail scored 71 runs off 82 balls.
Chasing 282 runs to win on a flat track, Zimbabwe’s start was not ideal one as Shaheen Shah managed to get two early wickets. However, Brendan Taylor and Madhevere were impressive in the middle order and they frustrated Pakistan after making 119-runs partnership for the 5th wicket. At that point Zimbabwe was looking to snatch the victory from the jaws of Pakistan. But it was Wahab Riaz who sent Madhevere to the dugout in the 46th over. And in the next over Shaheen Shah Afridi sent the centurion to the pavilion. After Taylor’s exit, Shaheen cleaned up the Zimbabwean’s tail quickly.
