Umer Gul has been officially appointed Afghanistan’s bowling coach

Former Pakistani paver Umer Gul has been officially appointed as the bowling coach of Afghanistan cricket team. He has been given the role for the period of one year. Umer previously worked with Afghanistan team on three-week assignment along with former Pakistani legend Younis Khan. Umer Gul has previously coached in Pakistan Super League, Lanka Premiere League, Kashmir Premiere League and domestic cricket.

The first assignment for Umer Gul will be Afghanistan’s tour to Zimbabwe in June. 39 years old Umer Gul retired from all forms of cricket in October 2020. He played 47 Tests, 130 ODIs and 60 T20Is for Pakistan between 2003 to 2016. Afghanistan will play Zimbabwe a series of three ODIs which will be part of World Cup Super League and three T20Is. All of these matches will be played between 4th to 14th June in Harare.
