
Former Pakistani Allrounder and Captain Shahid Khan Afridi has been included in the Galle Gladiators team as an icon player. Galle Gladiators is one of the team for the Lankan Premier League owned by Nadeem Omar of Pakistan who also own Quetta Gladiators. Afridi has retired from International cricket but he is very active in the T20 tournaments all around the world. Last time he played for Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League and he delivered quite an impressive performance.
“We have got Shahid Afridi as our icon player”, Nadeem Omar said. He also expressed his joy that it is an honour for us that Afridi is part of Galle Gladiators. Afridi took to Twitter to express his feeling being a part of Lankan Premier League. He also thanked Nadeem Omar for trusting in him.

Moin Khan will also be part of Galle Gladiators. His role has not been specified yet. He is the head coach of Quetta Gladiators and most probably he will take the same seat for Galle Gladiators. Lankan Premier League will be played between 14th November to 6th December. Many international players will feature in LPL. The league will be played in Hambantota, Pallekele and Dambulla. Five teams will feature in LPL which are Colombo, Galle, Dambulla, Kandy and Jaffna.
