Renowned Urdu poet Rahat Indori has died due to cardiac arrest at Indore’s Aurobindo Hospital. He was tested positive for COVID-19 and was being treated. He was admitted to hospital on Tuesday morning. His son Saltaj Indori told that he was admitted for coronavirus treatment but died after a cardiac arrest.
Rahat Indori sahib tweeted about his coronavirus report and told that he will keep updating about his situation through social media.
“After initial symptoms of COVID-19, my corona test was done yesterday which came out positive. Pray that I defeat this disease as soon as possible,” Rahat Indori
Rahat Saheb’s demise is an irreparable loss for contemporary urdu poetry and our society at large . Like Habib Jalib he was from the fast disappearing tribe of poets who are never short of courage to call a spade a spade .

Rahat Indori had an illustrious career in poetry and was famous for the lyrics of the songs like Need Churai Meri from Ishq and M Bole to from Munna Bhai MBBS. He also got fame among the youth after his poem Bulati hai magar jane ka nahi went viral.
