Royals Challengers Bangalore has got a big blow as their strike bowler Navdeep Saini is doubtful for the next match against Mumbai Indians after he sustained a split webbing in his right hand during the game against CSK. Saini is also one of the players who is under consideration for the Australia tour but he needs the permission of BCCI’s medical team which is keeping an eye on all the international players.

In the 18th over against CSK Saini was hit on his right thumb while fielding off his own bowling. He left the field immediately and got his webbing stitched up by the surgeon. RCB’s team physio Evan Speechly has told RCB TV that Saini has split his webbing in the last ball there. He has been hot on the right thumb and fortunately we have got a good hand surgeon who has stitched up very nicely. Speechly further added that we will monitor Saini overnight and check whether he is capable of bowling. He said that he is not sure when he will be fit to go but he hopes that Saini will play the next match.

Speechly also added that Saini’s injury is pretty much similar to the one RCB’s captain Virat Kohli sustained in 2016 season. Kohli in that season managed to score 973 runs despite having nine stitches on his right hand. Saini is a key bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore who has taken 5 wickets this season. RCB are currently on the 3rd position on points table with 14 points. They are just behind Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. RCB will play Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad next.
