Former Indian All-rounder SanjayBangar has been appointed the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He will take over the charge from Mike Hesson who will continue as the director of cricket operations. Mike Hesson had filled the head coach space for Simon Katich after the Aussie stepped down from the post before the start of the 2nd leg of IPL 2021 due to some personal reasons.
Sanjay Bangar was the batting consultant of RCB in IPL 2021 and now has has been promoted to the head coach role. He was also the batting coach of Indian national team from 2014 to 2019 before he was replaced by Vikram Rathour. Bangar was also the head coach of Kings XI Punjab in 2014 season. He stepped down from KXIP head coach role in 2016. He is a very experienced individual and RCB management is hoping to lift their first ever IPL trophy under his leadership.
Sanjay Bnagar represented the Indian national team in 12 Tests and 15 ODIs. IN the domestic circuit, Sanjay Bangar represented Railways and played 165 first-class matches in which he scored 8349 runs. He also took 300 wickets. He has also played in 2008 and 2009 season of IPL where he represented Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders.
