According to some reports former Indian captain and National Cricket Academy head Rahul Dravid has accepted BCCI’s offer to become the new head coach of Team India as Ravi Shastri will say good bye to the Indian team after the T20 World Cup. During the IPL final the president of BCCI Sourav Ganguly and BCCI secretary Jay Shah had a meeting with the wall of cricket, Rahul Dravid and convinced him to take up the responsibility of Team India’s coaching until 2023 Cricket World Cup.
A top official of BCCI has confirmed that Rahul Dravid will be the next head coach of Indian cricket team and he will be stepping down as head of NCA very soon. Dravid was recently the head coach of Indian team that toured Sri Lanka in the absence of the Test specialist who was playing against England in UK. Dravid will be given a two years contract and he will draw a salary of INR 10 crore. Dravid will be appointed the head coach of Indian cricket team from the New Zealand series right after the World Cup. India will host 3 T20Is and 2 Test matches after T20 World Cup and then will depart to South Africa for all-format tour in December.
