Qualcomm asks US government to let it sell chips for Huawei phones

Huawei is now the world’s largest smartphone makers as they surpassed Samsung in June 2020 despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and US ban. Now numerous US companies who were prohibited from doing business with Huawei are feeling uneasiness. Companies like Intel, Xilinix and Micron have reasoned with the Trump administration since the organizations were sighting huge loss by not doing business with Chinese tech giant, Huawei.

Now Qualcomm is also requesting the government to let them supply chipsets to Huawei for its 5G smartphone. Qualcomm has stated that the ban on Huawei has actually brought a setback for the US companies as Huawei has made its mark in the tech industry despite the ban. The ban is driving billions of dollars US sales to the foreign chipset makers which include MediaTek and Samsung. The US government has allowed Micron, Intel and Xilinix to conduct business with Huawei but expert are still not sure about Qualcomm that whether they will be allowed to do business with Huawei or not.
