Government of Punjab is thinking about declaring COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for all their citizens. A meeting was held in this regard chaired by Punjab’s Health Minister Yasmin Rashid on Wednesday at Civil Secretariat in Lahore.
The participant sin the meeting were of the view that the government should block the SIM cards and also restricting the access to the restaurants and shopping malls for all the unvaccinated persons. Many different recommendations regarding the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination were reviewed which include the restrictions for all the citizens who refuse vaccination. According the Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the protection of the citizens is the top priority if the government. She also said that only vaccination can put a break on COVID-19 pandemic. She also said that every district of Punjab has been given a target of COVID-19 vaccinations based on that district’s population. The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary of Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Department, DG Public Relations as well as the top military officials.
