Pakistan Cricket Board has decided not to hold the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of Pakistan Super League. According to sources, the opening ceremony has been abandoned to avoid the logistical and COVID-19 related problems. The 7th edition of PSL will start on 27th January at National Stadium Karachi.
PCB has decided to hold a short ceremony instead of a grand function. PCB chairman Ramiz Raja and other stakeholders will address the audience. After this short ceremony, the first match between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings will start at the National Stadium Karachi. It has also been reported that the official anthem of PSL will be released on 20th or 21st January. First four opening ceremonies of PSL were held in Dubai International Stadium whereas 2020 opening ceremony was held in Karachi. The opening ceremony of 2021 edition of PSL was shot in Turkey.
