National Command Operation Center (NCOC) has decided to let the stadium capacity be filled with 50% spectators. Earlier it was decided to allow only 20% of the stadium capacity to be filled and first few matches saw 20% crowd in the stadium. Now Pakistan Cricket Board has requested NCOC and the provisional governments to let the fans enter the stadium in higher numbers. PCB’s request was granted as NCOC thinks that it is safe for the fans to watch PSL action live from stadium.
Previously only 7,500 fans were allowed in National Cricket Stadium Karachi and 5,500 fans were allowed at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. With this permission now number of fans will increase to approx. 17,000 and 13,000 respectively.
It has also been reported that full attendance will be allowed for the playoffs and finals which are scheduled to be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The playoffs will be played on 18th, 19th and 20th March and the final of PSL will be played on 22nd March. Last year the playoffs and finals were held behind closed doors due to COVID-19. Now as the situation is improving in Pakistan, NCOC has decided to relax the SOPs.
