Batting first Pakistan scored 190/4. Hafeez and Haider set the tone for Pakistan as the debutant scored fifty. This is the first time a Pakistani has scored fifty on his debut in T20I. He scored 55 runs before being bowled by Jordan of a fizzling yorker. Haider has surely announced himself on the big stage. Hafeez remained not out on 86 of 52. In his inning of 86 he hit 6 towering sixes. Chris Jordan was the most impressive bowler for England as he took two wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs. In replay English start was not ideal as Jonny Bairstow was out on duck. He was bowled by Shaheen Shah’s exceptional yorker. Last match’s heroes Malan and Morgan were not able to perform in this crucial game. However, Moin Ali was impressive with his 33 balls 61 but he went at a crucial stage of the game. From Pakistan’s side Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wahab Riaz took two wickets each. For his impressive 86 runs, Hafeez was declared Man of the Match. He was also declared Man of the Series. This is Hafeez’s 4th player-of-the-series award in T20Is. There is only one player who has more awards in Men’s T20Is i.e. Virat Kohli (5).
