Oppo has announced two new products on the INNO Day 2020 which took place in Shenzhen, China. The two products are Oppo X 2021, a phone with rollable display as well as a new pair of Oppo AR Glasses 2021. According to Oppo the new products will be available in 2021.
Oppo X 2021 phone
The rollable display of Oppo X 2021 has a range from 6.7” to 7.4” in width depending on how the user decides to roll it out. Unlike many other foldable phones like the ones from Samsung, there is no crease visible when the user rolls the folded portion of the screen. Oppo X 2021 has continuously variable OLED display. The user can easily set the width depending on their requirement and the phone will have a flawless effect when the screen is expanded. The main difference here is that there is no crease when the screen is rolled out.
The screen uses three different technologies from the company. The technologies include Roll Motor powertrain, self developed Warp Track high strength screen laminate and 2-in-1 Plate. The 2-in-1 Plate supports the display when it is rolled out. This plate ensures that left and right side of the screens are flat when it is expanded fully. The Roll Motor powertrain will drive the screen when it is rolled out. There is also a WARP Track high strength screen laminate which will ensure that the device remains resilient. According to Oppo the laminate is only 0.1mm thick.
