With the sublime batting performance from Maddy Green and a sensational fifer from Lea Tahuhu, New Zealand beat host England in the third ODI at Leicester and kept the series alive. English batting collapse has continued as they were bowled out for 178 and White Ferns secured the win by three wickets with 25 balls remaining. This was a much-awaited victory for White Ferns as they were facing many defeats in the recent past.

For England Katherine Brunt was among the leading run scorer as she scored 49 runs and after that she also took 4 wickets for 22 runs in her quota of 10 overs. Many English batters were not able to convert their starts into big score. It was only Brunt who put on an all-around performance. Her heroics took the game into the final over and made it tough for the White Ferns.
From New Zealand, Tahuhu was in a killer mood as she reduced England for 20 for 3 . she took the wickets of Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Winfield and Heather Knight. She then came back again and dismiss Sophia Dunkley. Molly Penfold took the first wicket of her career by bowling a stunner to Amy Jones. After that she also grabbed the wicket of Danni Wyatt. Tuhuhu then came back to took her 5th wicket in the 21st over as Charlie Dean could not handle the thunderbolt and was sent back to the pavilion for 10.
When England was in shatters, Brunt and Cross came to England’s rescue with their rebuilding work as they made 53 runs partnership for the ninth wicket. When New Zealand came to bat, Brunt got rid of Suzie Bates and then Lauren Down in single figures and White Ferns were put under immense pressure as the scoreboard was 13/2. it was a brilliant partnership between Amy Satterthwaite and Green added 72 runs that brought them back into the match. England fought hard to win the game but at the end it was White Ferns who won the match in the last over.
