An earthquake has rocked Turkey and Greece due to which 49 people have been killed and more than 800 people are injured. According to the reports a powerful earthquake has hit the Aegean Sea on Friday afternoon that has crashed down many buildings and the authorities has called it a ‘mini tsunami.’ The officials said that 25 people were killed in the coastal areas of Turkey and 2 teenagers (a boy and a girl) died in Greek Island of Samos after a wall collapsed on both of them.
In Izmir more than 20 buildings were collapsed and some terrifying images of vehicles crushed under the buildings have circulated on the social media. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that five injured people were being operated on and eight people were in ICU. Water was flooding through the streets of Seferihisar and Cesme in Izmir province and also on the Greek island of Samos. The officials have called it a mini tsunami but no tsunami warning was issued.
