Manchester City beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 for 4-2 aggregate win. Pep Guardiola was over the moon and he shared an emotional moment with Phil Foden. With this win they have also ended it’s series of failure in the quarterfinals of Champions League. At the 5th attempt, Pep Guardiola managed to reach the semis matching the best ever result for Man City under his predecessor Manuel Pellegrini in 2016.
Jude Bellingham the teenage English midfielder of Dortmund put the club on course when he scored in 15th minute after Ruben Dias blocked Mahmood Dahoud’s shot. This goal leveled the aggregate 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund ahead on away goals.
But Man City leveled the score sheet in the 2nd half when Riyad Mahrez blasted spot kick into the top right of the goal post. In the 75th minute Phil Foden, who also scored in the first leg, sealed the victory for Man City with a low shot past Marwin Hitz off a short corner.
