Virat Kohli’s masterclass innings has outclassed MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings who have received 5th defeat of this season after playing 7 games. With this loss, CSK’s IPL campaign has gone in disarray. Kohli scored 90 runs of 52 balls that let RCB post a competitive 169 for 4.

Chennai Super Kings batting which is struggling throughout the season disappointed once again. Their opening batsmen Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis were shown the doors by Washington Sundar in the Powerplay overs. They ended up on 132/8 in 20 overs. CSK’s hopes were shattered when Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed CSK’s skipper MS Dhoni with a very well executed plan. Now CSK has only 4 points from the seven games and they are now sensing a danger of missing out on Play-Offs for the very first time in 11 seasons. Ambati Rayudu was the last hope if CSK but he was dismissed by the slower delivery from Isuru Udana (1/30 in 4 overs). Chris Morris (3/19 in 4 overs) was very impressive in his first appearance for RCB as he bowled a very tight line.
Earlier King Kohli was very impressive as he showed supreme fitness and led his team from the front with a staggering batting show. He hit four 4s and four 6s in the Dubai heat. He fitness can be judged by the fact that he ran four 2s in the last over. Kohli was involved in two half century partnerships i.e. with Devdutt Padikkal and then with Shivam Dube. RCB grabbed 74 runs in the last overs after CSK bowlers got relaxed after allowing only 95 runs in the first 15 overs. With this win RCB is now resting on 4th place and on the other hand CSK’s woes continue as they are on 7th place after winning only 2 matches after 7 matches.
