West Indian skipper Kieron Pollard hit six sixes in an over off Sri Lankan All-rounder Akila Dananjaya who earlier took a hat-trick in his 2nd over. He earlier removed Nicholas Pooran, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis.
West Indians were chasing a target of 132 which they completed in 13.1 overs. In the fouth oer of West Indian inning, off-spinner Dananjaya sent Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle (playing his first game in two years) and Nicholas Pooran to the pavilion. But in his next over Pollard came to the party and hit 6 sixes in a row. Pollard joined the club of Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh. Herschelle Gibbs hit sixes against the Netherlands at 2007 ODI World Cup and Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in an over against England at T20 World Cup in the same year.

Sir Garfield Sobers of West Indies was the first man to hit six sixes in an over who did it for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea in 1968. Pollard said that once he hit 5 sixes he knew that the bowler is on the back foot so decided to go for it.
