Australian and English players reached UAE after the completion of the nail-biting three match ODI series on late Wednesday night. Australia secured the series 2-1 after the brilliant centuries from Maxwell and Alex Carey.
Kolkata Knight Riders and the defending champions Mumbai Indians are based in Abu Dhabi and all other teams are based in Dubai. Abu Dhabi government has taken strict measures against the COVID-19 and refused to relax the 14-day quarantine rule regardless of the COVID-19 tests result. Mumbai have no player coming from Manchester but KKR have three of their main players coming from England and if the 14-day quarantine rule won’t be relaxed it will be very tough journey for the Shah Rukh Khan’s team in this year’s IPL. On the other hand, Dubai has relaxed the rules and the ones staying there will have to go through 36 hours of quarantine after the arrival from England of the PCR test result is negative.
