Delhi Capitals has grabbed two important points against RCB after defeating them by 59 runs and once again grabbed the top position on the points table. Delhi Capitals were asked to bat first and they posted 196 runs for four after some staggering batting show from the Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who scored an impressive fifty (53 runs off 26 balls). He hit 2 sixes and 6 fours in his quickfire fifty. Apart from Marcus Stoinis, the young opener Prithvi Shaw also played well as he scored 42 runs off 23 balls.
After setting a target of 197 runs, DC’s bowling attack restricted RCB to only 137 runs. RCB was never comfortable in their chase only their captain Virat Kohli showed some resistance by scoring 43 runs. The purple cap holder Kagiso Rabada was very impressive as he got 4 wickets in his quota of 4 overs giving away only 24 runs. Apart from Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Axar Patel were also impressive. Both of them got 2 wickets each. Kohli became the first ever Indian and 7th cricketer in the world who made 9000 T20 runs. But he was also not able to cross the winning line. After this victory, Delhi Capitals reached the top position as they have lost only one game in IPL 2020 so far. RCB is resting on the 3rd position but the NRR is their main concern as they have the worst NRR amongst all the teams.
