IPL 10th Match, 28-09-2020 at Dubai Sports Center
Royals Challengers Bangalore 201/3
Mumbai Indians 201/3
Match tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore won in super over)
Man of the Match: AB de Villers (RCB)
The 13th edition of IPL has already seen some of the most thrilling contests. We are just ten game into the 2020 edition of Indian Premiere League and we have already seen two super overs. In the last game Tewatia just bamboozled Sheldon Cottrell and snatched the victory from the jaws of KXIP. The match on Monday between RCB and MI had it’s fair share of thrill and excitement as it ended in a super over.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and they put RCB into bat. AB de Villiers was the star of the RCB inning as they post a colossal total of 201. Kohli was off color once again as he only scored 3 runs. Kohli’s failure with the bat did not have any effect on RCB’s batting show as Devilliers along with Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal helped the Bangalore team to cross the 200 mark. Shivam Dube at the end was also impressive with his 27 off just 10 balls. De Villiers remain unbeaten on 55 of just 24 balls. From Mumbai Indians, Bumrah, their ace bowler was not impressive once again as he was wicketless and gave away 44 runs in his quota of 4 overs. James Pattinson was also expensive as he gave away 51 runs in his 4 overs. Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal gave RCB a solid start as they provided 81 runs opening stand. Both the openers scored half centuries. Finch scored 52 of 35 deliveries and Padikkal scored 54 of 40 deliveries he faced.
When Mumbai Indians came to bat RCB’s bowlers gripped them tightly by removing the skipper Rohit Sharma for just 8 and Suryakumar Yadav for naught. But as we know how unpredictable T20 cricket is, MI changed the whole course of the game in the last overs. It was Ishan Kishan who was given the chance for the first time in this year’s IPL and he put up a staggering show with his bat. He scored his highest IPL score. He was out on 99, just one short of the magnificent 100. Supporting Kishan was the man of crisis for MI i.e. Kieron Pollard who score 64 runs of 24 deliveries. In the 17th over Pollard hit Adam Zampa for 27 runs and rang the alarm bells for RCB. Both Kishan and Pollard did their best to cross the line but couldn’t do it as they scored 89 off the 90 runs required in the final five overs. Zampa and Chahal were expensive but Washington Sundar was very impressive as he gave away only 12 runs in his allotted quota of 4 overs and picked up a wicket.
In the super over MI only managed to score 7 runs due to the impressive bowling from Saini. From RCB, their captain Kohli and AB de Villiers came to bat and they took it down to the very last ball of the super over. With 1 required of the final ball from Bumrah, Kolhi hit the boundary and RCB won their 2nd match of the season. Mumbai Indians will now take on Kings XI Punjab on Thursday and RCB will be up against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday in the battle of royals.
