Delhi Capitals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2nd Qualifier by 17 runs. With this win, Delhi has qualified for the IPL final for the very first time in IPL history. They will face the defending champions Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.

Shikhar Dhawan and Marcus Stoinis were the architect of this victory as they provided a solid start to Delhi who were not getting a good start in this year’s edition. While chasing a tough target, SRH’s Kane Williamson (67) produced a breathtaking knock but he was unable to finish it. At one stage when Williamson and Abdul Samad were playing in the middle, SRH were favorites to win the game but Stoinis dismissed the Kiwi right on time and the match was tilted towards DC.

Kane Williamson’s Staggering Batting Display

Marcus Stoinis was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant batting and bowling display. At the match presentation, Marcus Stoinis said that he has opened the batting for a couple of years in BBL and it was a nice opportunity for me to open for Delhi Capitals. He said that there was swing early on so had to look at it before cutting loose. He also added that he has played quite a bit of IPL but this will be the first time in final. Speaking about the rivals in IPL final Stoinis said that Mumbai Indians is a very good and professional side and they have performed consistently. He also added that MI are due an off game and our best cricket should be good enough to win.
