IPL 2020 – DC vs KXIP – Can Rishabh Pant win the ‘Battle of Keepers’

Rishabh pant who was once considered as the successor to MS Dhoni behind the stumps. Now as Dhoni has retired from the International cricket, Pant is still finding himself at the second spot for the limited over cricket for India. When Pant will put on the gloves for Delhi Capitals today against KXIP, he will be reminded for his biggest competitor as KL Rahul will be keeping for the opponent team. Rahul has put on the heavy gloves of Indian National team for the limited overs recently and he has owned it. In the DC vs KXIP game we will also see a battle for the spot of India’s man with gloves behind the wickets.

Delhi’s coach Ricky Ponting is all praises for the young wicket keeper and he is expecting that Pant will come up with impressive performance as he had done last year. KL Rahul is an impressive batsman for India and he has shown his class in the recent matches he has played in blue jersey. The experts are of the view that pant should not see Rahul as his competitor as Rahul can do well as a batsman, wicketkeeper and captain for KXIP. Pant should focus on his performance and his strengths. Pant needs to be good finisher like MSD. One of the reasons he was not picked for the 2019 World Cup was that he was unable to finish the matches in IPL despite scoring runs. Now it remains to be seen whether Pant can grab tis opportunity to ensure himself to be a permanent member of Indian National Team. IPL has always brought good things for him and we are hoping the same for him.
