Rishabh Pant, the newly appointed captain of Delhi Capitals is known for his ferocious hitting and for a wide array of shots that he can play. He is also a very good wicket keeper and is an integral part of the Indian national team. In this article we will tell you some of the interesting facts about Pant.

  • Pant made his first-class debit on 22nd October 2015 at the age of 18 in 2015-16 Ranji Trophy.
  • Pant is the first Indian cricketer who started his Test career with a six.
  • He has got the record of hitting the fastest century in Indian first-class cricket. In that innings he hit 21 towering sixes.
  • He was inspired by the legendary Australian wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist to take up cricket as a career.
  • At the U-19 level he made the fastest fifty i.e. in 18 balls.
  • Rishabh Pant is the only Indian wicket-keeper who has scored a Test century in Australia and England.
  • Pant is the fastest wicket-keeper for India to take fifty dismissals in Test cricket. He achieved this feat in September 2019 in the second Test match against the West Indies.
  • Pant was awarded with the Emerging Player of the Year award at the ICC Awards in 2018.
  • In the year 2016, he scored 111 runs off 96 balls which guided India into U-19 World Cup semi-finals. In that day he was bought by Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals).
  • Before Washington Sundar, Pant was the youngest Indian player to make a debut in a T20I match. He was only 19 years 120 days old.
