Instagram has introduced Reels, a copycat of TikTok

Instagram Reels has been made available for the US citizens and this new feature resembles TikTok greatly. Reels is actually an in-app editing tool which will allow you to create 15 seconds videos synced to music or any other type of audio. This new feature will let the users to select an audio clip which can be used with the video. Apart from adding music to your video clip you are also empowered to speed up or slow down your video clips. You can also add different effects and can align different clips. It also allows you to use a timer and countdown in order to record hands-free.

You can watch others Reels in Instagram Explore tab as well as in Instagram Stories. If you have got a private account then you can share the Reels with your followers directly in your feed. Private Reels are like Instagram Stories which will disappear after 24 hours. Instagram Reels is also available in other countries which include Germany, France, Australia, UK, Mexico and others. This feature was first launched in Brazil in November 2019 and its arrival in the US has come at a time when US president Donald Trump has threatened to ban TikTok over security concerns.  India has already banned TikTok due to security reasons and due to the recent scuffle between Indian and Chinese soldiers.
