In the ongoing series against England India’s opening batsman KL Rahul is having a terrible time with bat as he has managed to score only 1 runs in three innings. Virat Kohli is still backing KL Rahul despite his second consecutive duck. Kohli has said that Rahul is a champion player and he will continue to be the main batsman in our side.

In the post-match ceremony, Kohli said that Rahul is a champion player and he will continue to be one of the main pillars of Indian side along with Rohit Sharma at the top order. He also said that in the short format of the game it is a matter of just 5-6 deliveries.

Kohli himself on the other hand is in sublime form as he has scored an unbeaten 77. But his staggering show with bat has gone in vain as England won the game easily with a brilliant knock of 83 from Jos Buttler. Speaking about his own innings, Kohli said that it is of no use if your knocks are not helping your side in any way. He said that English bowlers were hitting the right areas and it was very difficult to bat against the new ball.

With this win, England is now leading the 5 match T20I series 2-1. Both the teams will play the 4th T20I of the series at the same venue on Thursday.
