Former Proteas fast bowler Vernon Philander has been appointed the bowling coach of Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup which will begin on 17th October 2021. Philander retired from international cricket last year. He was regarded as one of the best swing bowler of modern era. On the pitches with some seam movement, he was unplayable.
South African bowler Philander has a vast experience and Pakistani youngsters can learn a lot from him. Philnader is excited to work with Pakistani team. 36 years old former Proteas bowler is new to coaching field but he will definitely evolve. The newly elected chairman of PCB Ramiz Raja spoke to Philander about the coaching of Pakistani bowler which he accepted for T20 World Cup.
Vernon Philander has said that he is really excited to work with young bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Husnain. He said that he will try to add consistency in Pakistan’s bowling attack. He thinks Pakistan ahs a very exciting bowling attack and he would tell them to play an attacking brand of cricket.
