Hamid Shinwari dismissed by Taliban Government, Naseeb Khan appointed as CEO of ACB

Hamid Shinwari axed

Taliban has dismissed Hamid Shinwari as the Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan Cricket Board. It is reported that some unidentified people stormed into the office and then demanded the CEO to be replaced. Now Taliban has named Naseebullah Khan as the new CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Hamid Shinwari siad that Anas Haqqani came to his office and told him that ‘your job as CEO of ACB is over’. He then introduced Naseebullah Haqqani as the new CEO of ACB. He further said that I have asked for the written order of my termination but I have not received any yet. Hamid Shinwari has also said that he was appointed as the CEO of ACB five months ago after a transparent process and now I have no idea why I am terminated.

Himdullah Shinwari was dealing with the toughest of circumstances in the aftermath of Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and he was trying hard to keep Afghanistan Cricket alive by requesting other cricket boards to maintain the ties with ACB.

Afghanistan Cricket Board took on Twitter and tweeted “Naseeb Khan, has been introduced as the new CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), by board’s Chairman @AzizullahFazli,”

Azizullah Fazli will remain the chairman of ACB after being appointed by Taliban’s government.

Afghanistan Cricket is in chaos and changes can be seen after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Rashid Khan quitted the captaincy of Afghanistan team after some selection issues and now all-rounder Muhammad Nabi has been appointed the new captain of Afghanistan Cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
