Google Maps gets Dark Mode on Android

Google Maps is coming up with dark theme on its Android app for the users all over the world. Google was testing the dark theme for Google Maps since September 2020 and now the global rollout for Android user has begun.

With the dark mode your eyes will have the much-needed break and it will also help save your battery life as well. In order to enable the dark theme all you have to do is to tap on your profile icon located at the top right corner in Google Maps. Now look for the theme settings in the configuration options list and then enable the entry that activated the dark mode. You must have the latest version of Android OS i.e. v10.51.2 in order to access the dark mode feature.

The Google Maps in the dark mode has got a super-dark shade of grey for the background of the map. The street names come in the lighter shade of grey, letting the users to easily spot important landmarks as well as roads. Google has also come up with Password Checkup feature for Android handsets. The feature has been integrated into Android phones which are running on Android 9 and above.
