US Open champion Emma Raducanu was knocked out of the French Open losing to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in the second round. She lost to Sasnovich 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. The 12th seed British star made her professional debut this year at Roland Garros and she also lost to Sasnovich at Indian Wells last year in her match after her stunning victory in US Open.
Sasnovich said that after the first set she thought she couldn’t win so started playing point to point. Emma Raducanu hit 33 unforced errors and she paid the price for not converting five break points in the 3rd game of the decider. Sasnovich willnow face either Germany’s Angelique Kerber, a three time Grand Slam winner or French wildcard Elsa Jacquemot.
