New Zealand Cricket has increased the security of their women’s team which is currently touring England as a precaution after receiving a threatening email was received by England Cricket Board. Black Caps who abruptly abandoned their tour to Pakistan over the security issues for their men’s team has said that the latest threat received by their women’s team is not credible.
ECB has increased their security around White Ferns women’s team which is going to play England in Leicester on Tuesday. ECB has said that the White Ferns have arrived in Leicester and the security for them has been boosted. The threat came after ECB withdrew their men’s as well as women’s teams from the white-ball series in Pakistan. Their decision of not travelling to Pakistan came after the dramatic withdrawal of Black Caps from Pakistan tour on Friday just before the start of first ODI was due to start at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The tour cancellation of England and New Zealand are a huge setback for Pakistan which is trying their level best to revive cricket after the terror attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009. Now there are also questions marks on the tours of West Indies and Australia. West Indies is due to visit Pakistan in December and Australia is due to visit Pakistan in February next year.
