Dhoni has announced retirement from International Cricket

MS Dhoni, former Indian Captain has called it a day from international cricket in a message which he posted on Instagram. He quit the 5-day cricket in 2014 and was not playing ODI cricket as he was taking a break after the Semi-Final loss in last year World Cup against New Zealand.

His Instagram post has got a video message which is composed of the images from the 15 years of his illustrious career. Dhoni is undoubtedly the most successful captain of India. Dhoni brings the champion like performance in this team. Dhoni the was one who led the cricket crazy nation to the inaugural T20 World Cup title in the year against 2007 against arch rival Pakistan. He repeated it again in the ODI World Cup in the year 2011. He also made India champion in 2013 ICC Champions trophy. Dhoni had an illustrious ODI career. He played 350 ODI matches and scored 10,773 runs. He has 444 dismissals in ODI as well. He made 10 ODI hundreds and he had an average of 50.57. When it comes to the T20 format he scored 1617 runs at an impressive average of 37.60. Dhoni is known for finishing the successful ODI chase with a six which includes the World Cup Final 2011. He has done it 9 times and no other player has done it more than Dhoni. Dhoni has also bowled in International cricket and he has an ODI wicket as well. He has taken the wicket of Travis Dowlin from West Indies.

 

Suresh Raina also announced his retirement from International cricket.
