New Zealand has suffered a huge blow as their wicket-keeper batsman Devon Conway is ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup final. He is also likely to miss the tour to India. Conway suffered an injury in the semi-final against England. Conway hit his own bat on his hand out of frustration after being dismissed in the semi-final. When he was taken for X-rays it was confirmed that he had broken the 5th metacarpal in his right hand.
This is the 2nd injury in the Kiwi’s camp in this World Cup after Lockie Ferguson was ruled out on the day of their opening game against Pakistan due to calf tear. Kiwi head coach Gary Stead has said that Conway is bitterly disappointed to be ruled out like this just before the final.
