Australia’s premiere batsman David Warner will not take part in the upcoming five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka which will start on 11th February 2022. On the other hand, Jade Richardson will not be part of the Aussie team’s historic tour to Pakistan in March this year. Australia is all set to tour Pakistan after more than twenty years for a full-fledged series. Australia will play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and a T20I match in March this year.
Jhye Richardson suffered a foot injury during the 2nd Ashes Test and now Cricket Australia has decided to rest Richardson due to a busy schedule ahead for the Aussie team. Kangaroos have got loads of fast bowling options which include their captain Pat Cummins, left arm seamer Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, who has got full fitness, Australia has also got the services of Scott Boland who was very impressive in the recently concluded Ashes series.
For Australia’s tour to Sri Lanka, Australia may pick Ben McDermott who has a very impressive Big Bash season with bat. If picked, he will open the batting with captain Aaron Finch. Mathew Wade will also part of the Sri Lanka tour for T20I series but Wade is likely to miss the tour to Pakistan.
Australia will send an almost a full-strength team to Pakistan in March. Marcus Harris will make a comeback in Test squad and Usman Khawaja will also be part of the Aussie team for tour to Pakistan. Both David Warner and Mitchell Starc will play Test series against Pakistan and will miss the limited overs series due to bio-secure bubble life. Australia’s historic tour to Pakistan will commence on 3rd March 2022 and they will play the 1st Test at National Stadium Karachi.
