The day has arrived when the Bayern Munich is going to take on Paris St-Germain in the gripping Champions League Final. Both the teams are looking to create history as PSG is reaching at the final stage for the very first time. On the other hand, Bayern Munich has not won the title since 2012-13 season. In 2012-13 season Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at Wembley Stadium, London.

Bayern Munich on the Winning Track:

Bayern Munich is flying high at the moment as they have won both the Bundesliga and German Cup. Now they are right on track to match the achievements of Jupp Heynckes’s 2012-13 team. In this season Bayern Munich is just ruthless as they have swept everything that came their way. It also includes the famous trashing of Barcelona in the quarter-final who are they 5 times winner of the competition. That 8-2 trashing by Bayern the record for the biggest win in the quarter-final in Champions League history. Bayern has scored 42 goals in 10 games. 10 of them came in the group matches against Tottenham and 7 of them against Chelsea over two legs in last 16. They became the 1st German side to win all 6 matches in group stage. Now Bayern has the last hurdle to overcome for winning the title for the 6th time and that is PSG, who are there for the very first time.

Paris Saint-Germain, Will They Break Their Duck?

PSG is in the Champions League final for the very first time. there best performance at UEFA Champions Leagure previously was the Semi Final against AC Milan in 94-95 season. They lost to Italian club 2-0 on 19th April, 1995. THis time they have come up with some fire-power at the front with the likes of 21 years old Mbappe, Brazilian star Neymar and the Argentinian footballer Di Maria. With this trio they are hopeful of winning the title for the first time. It is now or never for PSG as a win here will totally transform the French club.

Will Bayern Choke Again?

Today’s stage is new for PSG but Bayern has been there before.  Bayern though has won the competition 5 times but on the other hands they have also lose some of the Champions League finals in very dramatic ways. They have lost the Champions League final 5 times. They lost it in 1981–82, 1986–87, 1998–99, 2009–10 and 2011–12 seasons. They were kicked out of the competition from the Semi-Final stage nine times and more recently in 2016-17 season. They need to be focused to cross the last hurdle if they want to prove themselves to be an exceptional and powerful unit in Europe.

Neymar Will be The Key Player

Neymar is undoubtedly their most vital players along with Mbappe and Di Maria. For PSG, Neymar has appeared in 19 games and he was involved in 23 goals. He scored 14 goals and assisted 9 goals. Some experts are of the view that the Sunday’s final is actually between the best team vs the best player i.e. Bayern vs Neymar. Neymar is the player who can do anything at any time. He is the only player who can win a game on his own. Matt Sapiro, French Football Expert thinks that if PSG wins the title then their decision to pay world record fee of 222m Euros to Barcelona for Neymar will be justified.

Lewandowski Will be The Key Player for Bayern

Bayern has got the powers of Robert Lewandowski who has scored in nine consecutive Champions League matches. Only Cristiano Ronaldo has found the back of the net in more successive games in the Champions League history. He has also scored most goals in Champions League’s history for Bayern Munich.

All Eyes on Mbappe, the Young Sensation

Mbappe will be another key player for PSG who is only 21 years old and has already got three Ligue 1, FIFA World Cup and more than 100 professional goals under his belt. He has scored 19 UEFA Champions League goals as well. Some are of the view the Mbappe should bot be considered for Ballon d’Or till he won the Champions Trophy for PSG. Well he must be feeling the pressure as well.
