Afghanistan Cricket Board wants to host postponed Pakistan series in Afghanistan

Afghanistan Cricket Board has expressed its desire to host the postponed series against Pakistan. After the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, cricket activities have been impacted severely. The series was postponed earlier this month citing the mental issues of Afghan players. Apart from this ACB cited the logical issues and lockdown in Sri Lanka. The series was to be played on 3rd September.

Now according to some report, ACB president Azizullah Fazli will visit Pakistan in next week and will meet newly appointed chairman of PCB Ramiz Raja. Azzizullah has made it very clear that Taliban want to flourish cricket in Afghanistan. Yesterday, Afghanistan’s former CEO Hamid Shinwari was axed by Taliban and Naseebullah Haqqani was appointed in his place.

Afghanistan cricket is in turmoil at the moment. Just recently Rashid Khan quit the captaincy ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021 citing the issues on the selection of the team. Muhammad Nabi has been appointed the new captain of Afghanistan Cricket team in T20 World Cup.
